Determination of the critical exponents in dissipative phase transitions: Coherent anomaly approach

چکیده
We propose a generalization of the coherent anomaly method to extract critical exponents phase transition occurring in steady-state an open quantum many-body system. The method, originally developed by Suzuki [J. Phys. Soc. Jpn. {\bf 55}, 4205 (1986)] for equilibrium systems, is based on scaling properties singularity response functions determined through cluster mean-field calculations. apply this dissipative transverse-field Ising model and XYZ two dimensions obtaining convergent results already with small clusters.

Critical Exponents for Granular Phase Transitions
The solid–fluid phase transition of a granular material shaken horizontally is investigated numerically. We find that it is a first-order phase transition and propose two order parameters, namely the averaged kinetic energy and the averaged granular temperature, to determine the fluidization point precisely. It scales as amplitude times square of the frequency of the external vibration. Using t...
متن کاملAbout the determination of critical exponents related to possible phase transitions in nuclear fragmentation
We introduce a method based on the finite size scaling assumption which allows to determine numerically the critical point and critical exponents related to observables in an infinite system starting from the knowledge of the observables in finite systems. We apply the method to bond percolation in 2 dimensions and compare the results obtained when the bond probability p or the fragment multipl...
متن کاملDissipative Phase Transitions
The transport properties of a quantum mechanical system coupled to an environment deviate sharply from those of the isolated system when the coupling exceeds a critical value. This effect is governed by a quantum phase transition, which takes place because the environment suppresses quantum fluctuations. This paper explains why dissipation leads to spontaneous symmetry breaking at T = 0, and ho...
متن کامل.1 Second-order Phase Transitions 1.2 Critical Exponents
1 Introduction Systems containing a large number of particles exhibit a great variety of phase transitions. Most common are first-and second-order transitions. A transition is said to be first-order if the internal energy changes discontinuously at a certain temperature. Such a transition is accompanied by the release or absorption of latent heat. Important examples are melting and evaporation ...
متن کاملAccurate estimates of 3D Ising critical exponents using the Coherent-Anomaly Method
An analysis of the critical behavior of the three-dimensional Ising model using the coherent-anomaly method (CAM) is presented. Various sources of errors in CAM estimates of critical exponents are discussed, and an improved scheme for the CAM data analysis is tested. Using a set of mean-field type approximations based on the variational series expansion approach, accuracy comparable to the most...
